Imam Khomeini’s Historic Interview with BBC

The founder of the Islamic Republic said in a historic interview with the British broadcaster that the sources of his power are the public and masses.

This historic interview was conducted by the BBC during Imam’s stay on the suburbs of the French capital just months before the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Imam Khomeini further stressed that people consider him as their well wisher and also pay respect for his religious personality and status.

Explaining the reasons for his opposition to the Pahlavi regime of Shah, Imam said that he had committed treacheries against religion and crimes against the country over the past decades.

The founder of the Islamic Republic made a crystal clear that he would found an Islamic-democratic system following the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Imam also stressed that the laws and regulations would be constituted on the Islamic principles and values. 

Imam also made clear that the then constitution would be reformed by carrying out reforms and the parts would be kept if it were in accordance with the Islamic values.

The great religious and spiritual leader of the Muslim world emphasized that the Islamic system would distance itself any eastern or western power blocs .

The Islamic Revolution emerged victorious under the wise leadership of the great Imam which set stage for the prosperity of the Iranian and other oppressed nations across the world.

Imam Khomeini has had well command over several disciplines of the Islamic sciences including the philosophy, mysticism, jurisprudence, poetry, Quranic interpretation, Islamic traditions and several other fields.

He left several works as his academic legacy which would continue to guide the generations for decades to come.
