Quite often it occurred that the Imam would not notice me when I entered his room. On one such occasion I saw the Imam sitting on the floor on his knees with my son Ali astride his shoulders and playing with the Imam. I dearly wished to take a photograph or two of the scene but the Imam would not allow me to do so. The Imam’s sincerity and intimacy with the children and my mother was quite astonishing.
