Inside the home he neither urged nor opposed

At the same time as being resolute on issues, the Imam was exceedingly humble. At home he would never urge or oppose members of the household. He performed his personal chores himself and never ordered anybody around even to bring him a glass of water. He always had a special respect for his wife—his life partner. Whenever he would enter a gathering, he would greet everybody with a ‘salaam’. Even members of his household seldom succeeded in taking the lead from the Imam in this regard.
