Mass gathering of Quran’s recitation held at Imam Shrine

A spiritual event and gathering to recite some chapters of the holy Quran has been held at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum.

A large number of people from various walks of life gathered at holy shrine of the founder of the Islamic Republic to recite some chapters of Quran. The gathering was held on the eve of the Eid-Fitr which marks which marksthe end of the fasting month ofRamadan. A series of Hadiths narrated by the holy prophet of Islam and his infallible successors have describe the blessed month of Ramadan as spring for Quran. Imam Baqer (PBUH) once said: There is aspringfor everything and for the holyQuran Ramadhanis thespring. Imam Baqer (PBUH) said: There is a spring for everything and for the holy Quran Ramadhan is the spring . Also, Imam Sadiq (PBUH) said: With the holy Quran welcome Ramadhan . The holy month is the best opportunity to cleanse the soul and the body with Quran. Friends and family members say that Imam Khomeini used to recite the divine scripture too much during the holy month ofRamadanand recommended others to make best spiritual use of these sacred times as spring of the holy Quran. The holy Quran has pointed out to this philosophy and significance of fasting as under: "O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqunpious" (Surah Baqarah, verse: 183). Imam Khomeini was closely associated with Quran and has had great knowledge of Quranic interpretation and other Islamic discipline. The great leader established Islamic-democratic system in Iran when the whole world had been plunged into social of moral and social decline. Imams dynamic thought and Quranic teachings will continue to guide people from around the globe over the coming centuries. Imams mausoleum has located on suburbs of Tehran and has become a center for spiritual events which are attended by devotees from various parts of the world. Thousands of pilgrims from around the globe pay homage at his holy shrine each year.
