Friends and family members say that Imam Khomeini used to recite the divine scripture too much during the holy month ofRamadanand recommended others to make best spiritual use of these sacred times as spring of the holy Quran.
The holy Quran has pointed out to this philosophy and significance of fasting as under:
"O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqunpious" (Surah Baqarah, verse: 183).
