Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati recently made remarks during a gathering of acitivists from a Quranic organization which promotes Quranic teachings.
The head of the Guardian Council said that the Iranian people had resisted aggression and stood firm during eight years of imposed war due to Imam Khomeini’s Quranic guidance and ideals.
The cleric also noted that the dynamic Quranic teachings promoted by the great Imam played decisive role in strengthening people determination and they could resist against brutal aggression and illegal sanctions.
The imposed war began in 1980, a year after the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution, when former Iraqi dictator Saddam, supported by the major powers, invaded Iran with aerial and ground incursions into Iranian territory.
Several pundits believe that Imam Khomeini the founder of the Islamic Republic truly exemplified the true and genuine teachings of the holy prophet of Islam and his infallible successors in his lifestyle.
