Presenting support to the needy seminary students

In the city of Najaf just before the classes began and the Imam entered the room, he would pause briefly and look around the classroom. One day he noticed that among the shoes of the seminary students, there was one pair that was in very bad condition such that only half of it was intact and it was absolutely unworthy and could not be worn at all. The Imam was quite upset by this scene and after classes was over, called one of the students and stated: “Tomorrow morning you will check among the shoes and find that worn out pair and see whom it belongs to; then you will wait there until you see its owner, locate his address and inform me about it.” That person said: “Next morning I carried out the Imam’s instructions and found out the home address of that individual who was a student from the province of Yazd and gave it to the Imam. The Imam arranged for a complete set of new clothes and pair of shoes which was handed over to the seminary student.”
