Hassan Khomeini visits sick preacher

The grandson of Imam Khomeini has visited to seek the welfare of a sick preacher during the holy month of Muharram.

Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini visited Hojjat al-Islam Kasra in Shamiranat district of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Kasra has long been suffering from a sickness and battling a disease. He has been well-known for his untiring efforts to preach genuine teachings of Islam over the past years.

The visit comes at the occasion marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the third Shia imam.

A brief ceremony was also held to mention virtues of Holy Prophet and his Household and to commemorate the divine-inspirted uprising of Imam Hussein against injustice, tyranny and brutality in Karbala.

The lunar month of Muharram, the 10th day of which, known as Ashura, marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, Prophet Mohammad’s grandson.

Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, frequently said that the holy months of Muharram and Safar have kept Islam alive and advised preachers to promote genuine teachings of Islam during this period.
