Seyyed Hassan Khomeini hopes massive turnout at polls

Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic cast his ballots in the crucial elections.

Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini cast his ballots in the 10th Parliamentary and 5th Assembly of Experts elections.

He cast his vote at a polling station in the northern Tehran district of Jamaran.

He was also warmly received by voters present at the polling station as they chanted the following welcome slogans.

“May Allah's peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhad, his progeny, and that He (Hassan Khomeini) is the fragrance of Khomeini”.

Speaking to journalists, Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini hoped for a massive public turnout at the ongoing elections.

During his messages and speeches prior to the polls, he had repeatedly called for massive participation of public masses in the historic elections.

Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini called for people from various walks of life to cast their ballots on the Election Day. 

The Muslim scholar has stressed that ignoring such an important event would amount to disregarding the rights of previous generations who had rendered great sacrifices and contributed to the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini in a recent message has stressed that casting ballots would also mean that we all have fulfilled our responsibility towards the next generations as well.

Following the establishment of Islamic-democratic system, Iran has held several presidential, parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections.
