The grandson of Imam Khomeini has led a prayer at Imam Khomeini’s holy shrine which was attended by people from various walks of life.
Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini led the congregational prayers at the holy mausoleum on Thursday night.
The prayers were attended by several seminary and university figures and devotees, and people from various walks of life.
The mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic has become a beacon of cultural, social, religious and spiritual activities in recent years.
According to holy shrine cultural director, Hojjat al-Islam Javadi Rad, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, Imam’s holy mausoleum is also set to host a ceremony which will be inaugurated on Sunday morning.
Several cultural, social, religious events have been organized at the holy site during the Nowrouz which marks the beginning of the Persian year.
Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, stressed to revive the divine and spiritual values during these days of spring.
According to Islamic teachings and several Quranic verses have mentioned the spring as an evidence for the revival of life and a proof for the day of the resurrection.
During Nowrouz, Iranians go on travel, visit families, give charities and help needy people of the society.
