Kharrazi, the head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations met with Haider al-Abadi in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on Monday.
Kharrazi and high-level accompanying delegation discussed regional cooperation in assisting the Iraqi government in its fight against terror. He also met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ja'afri.
The two sides stressed the significance of aligning regional efforts in the fight against terrorism.

Baghdad government forces backed by volunteer fighters have been engaged in the fight against the terrorists of the Takfiri Daesh group over the years. They have managed to liberate several militant-held cities and towns from Daesh terrorist group in recent months.
