Iran slams Brussels terror attacks

Iranian president has "firmly condemned" terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital city of Brussels.

Posting a message on his Twitter account on Tuesday, President Hassan Rouhani offered his deepest condolences to the Belgian government and people, particularly those who lost their loved ones.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has strongly denounced condemned terrorist bomb explosions in the Belgian capital city of Brussels.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, said on Tuesday stressed the importance of adopting all-embracing efforts to fight terrorism which is threatening the entire world.

“Repetition of terrorist operations in different parts of the world is an indicator of the common threat [posed] by terrorism and extremism to the entire world,” the spokesman said

The senior Foreign Ministry official noted that such terrorist attacks underscore the necessity of "integrated and overarching" action against the ominous phenomenon of terrorism.

He also called for strong action against centers of political, ideological and financial support for terrorism.

About 30 people were killed in two bomb explosions that rocked Brussels Airport, followed by blasts at a metro station in the city on Tuesday.

At least a dozen people were killed and over 80 others injured after two explosions hit the departure hall of Zaventem Airport.

Blasts also hit the city's metro station near the European Union’s main buildings, leaving at least 20 people dead.

Brussels terrorist attacks have draw worldwide condemnation. The world leaders and international organizations have strongly condemned Tuesday's deadly terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital city.
