Rouhani urges unity among divine religions to counter terrorism

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani highlight the need for followers of all religions to unite in a bid to counter violence and terrorism

In a meeting with visiting Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic in Tehran on Sunday, Rouhani urged followers of all divine religions to unite in a bid to counter the phenomena.

The Iranian president also said that the spread of terrorism and violence is among major problems plaguing the in the region and the entire world.

He also deplored efforts aimed at attributing terrorism to divine religions.

The president pointed out that divine religions, especially Islam, opposes terrorism and promote kindness and brotherhood among all human beings.

The remarks come as the Takfirit Daesh terrorists and other militant groups have wreaked havoc across Iraq and Syria, and have also carried out terrorist attacks in other parts of the world. 

It is mention to worthy that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic had frequently through his speeches and messages emphasized the need to confront all types of violence and terrorism.

Following the footsteps of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Iranian officials have extended their support for all Islamic and the world nations to combat terrorism and militancy.
