Iranian nation’s “revolutionary spirit” is a legacy of the late Imam Khomeini, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says.
Ayatollah Khamenei made remaks while more than a million mourners who have gathered in southern Tehran to mark the 27th anniversary of the passing away of the founder of the Islamic Republic.
"The materialistic powers were always fearful of Imam Khomeini’s revolutionary approach and today they continue to pressure the nation because of its very same revolutionary spirit," the Leader said.
Huge numbers of mourners have converged on the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in southern Tehran to renew their allegiance to the ideals of late founder and pay their tributes.
Millions of Iranians are participating in ceremonies and events across the nation to mark the anniversary.
