Israel must end land grab, settlement expansion

Iranian foreign ministry says Israel must immediately end land grab and settlement expansion.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi has recently sharply denounced Israel’s decision to construct more illegal settler units in the occupied Palestinian lands.

The spokesman underscored the need for an immediate end to Israel’s unlawful construction activities in the occupied territories,

The spokesman stressed that the Israeli regime’s expansionist policies make a mockery of international law.

Qassemi further emphasized that Tel Aviv’s decision to expand its illegal settlements is against United Nations resolutions and international regulations.

He also called on international organizations to help reduce the sufferings of the oppressed Palestinian nation.

The UN and all countries view Israeli settlements as illegal because the territories were captured by the Tel Aviv regime during a war in 1967. Some 570,000 Israelis live in more than 100 settlements built since the regime’s 1967 occupation of the East al-Quds (Jerusalem) and West Bank.

Illegal settlements and are hence subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbid construction on occupied lands.

It is noteworthy that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic through his speeches and messages urged all Muslim nations to pay special attention to the Palestinian issue.
