Imam Khomeini used to denounce Islamophobia

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic used to denounce growing Islamophobia in some western countries.

Imam Khomeini through his speeches and messages used to insist on tolerance and recommended the followers of various divine religions to become united under the banner of monotheism in order to confront cruel and colonial powers’ vicious agenda.

Imam also used to say that anti-Islam sentiments and propaganda was being spread systematically by some media outlets or lobbying groups. He also used to denounce any type of sectarianism among Muslims or any strife among followers of divine religions.

We see necessary to attract attention of our readers towards a most recent fatal shooting of a mosque imam and his associate in the US city of New York on Saturday. The incident presents a patteren of Islamophobia.

The pair was walking home from afternoon prayers at a mosque in the New York City, when a gunman opened fire, shooting both in the head.

Imam Alala Uddin Akongi was pronounced dead at the scene. Akongi assistant, 64-year-old Thara Uddin, was critically wounded and succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
