All regional countries must adopt anti-terror policies

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi says all regional countries must adopt realistic and anti-terror policies to help solve the ongoing crises in the region.

He also strongly rejected claims made by Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the UN general Assembly.

Qassemi said instead of helping reduce tensions, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been trying to deepen gaps and spread war.

Qassemi also called on Abu Dhabi to accept the realities and stop rehashing unfounded claims.

The Iranian spokesperson strongly dismissed “baseless” allegations leveled by the Abu Dhabi. “The repetition of baseless claims will not change historical realities.”

Qassemi added that the UAE's accusing other countries of fueling instability in the region come at a time that Abu Dhabi has given up its traditional conservative role in favor of certain “extremist and warmongering players in the region” over recent years.

The spokesman stressed that the Islamic Republic has always believed that policies that support Takfiri terrorism have put the region "on the brink of irreversible catastrophes and hardship."

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian spokesman once again reiterated Iran’s sovereignty over the Persian Gulf Islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and lesser Tunbs.

It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic through his messages frequently denounced all types of violence and terrorism.

Senior Iranian authorities have always extended their support to confront the Takfiri terrorist groups such as Daesh and al-Qaeda which are wreaking havoc in Iraq and Syria and elsewhere.
