National Student Day marked across Iran

Iranians students across the country organize massive rallies to pledge allegiance with ideal Islamic Revolution on the occasion every year.

The National Student Day is marked on November 4th which corresponds with the 13th of Aban in the Iranian calendar.

Each year, Iranian students as well as people from various echelon of the society stage massive rallies across the country to mark the occasion which has also been named as the Day of Fight against Global Hegemony in the Iranian calendar.

On Thursday, Iranians took to the streets across the nation to mark the National Student Day on the 37th anniversary of the US embassy takeover by university students in Tehran.

In 1979, a group of Iranian students took over the US embassy. They were frustrated by Washington’s aggressive policies and its meddling in the country's internal affairs

This came a year after the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini, toppled the former US backed Pahlavi Regime.

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, hailed the takeover as a “second revolution” after the Islamic Revolution in 1979 which toppled the Shah of Iran.
