Imam Khomeini largely relied on people’s power

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has stressed that Imam Khomeini; the founder of the Islamic revolution had great faith in people’s power and largely counted on public’s support in all stages of the struggle.

Addressing the closing ceremony for the 8th Farabi International Festival in the Iranian capital on Sunday, President Rouhani said that Imam had strong belief in people’s power and largely relied on public masses during all stages of struggle that resulted in the victory of Islamic revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1979.  

 We should closely look at how late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini as a religious leader, philosopher, lecturer and ethical scholar, managed to lead the revolution towards victory, the president stressed.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Rouhani stated that the Islamic Revolution in Iran owes its victory to the leadership of Imam Khomeini who had deep also understanding of anthropology and sociology of the society as well.

“Had it not been Imam Khomeini’s deep understanding of the Iranian people and his acumen about social nature and social psychology of the country, the revolution would not have embraced victory,” the president said.

It is worthy to mention that the victory of Islamic revolution under Imam Khomeini’s leadership put Iran on track of progress and changed balance of power in the interests of oppressed nations.
