A large number of tourists and pilgrims have converged on historic ancestral residence of the late founder of the Islamic Republic in city of Khomein.

The arrivals of tourists and pilgrims take place during Nowruz, which commences the beginning of the spring and New Persian Year.

Imam Khomeini also opted to live in a very simply-built residence in Tehran even after becoming the founder of the Islamic Revolution. 

The sites attributed to Imam Khomeini are visited by thousands of pilgrims, intellectuals, scholars and tourists each year from across Iran and various parts of the world.
