Imam Khomeini highly trusted martyr Dr. Beheshti

Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic had highly trusted Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti and appointed him as the head of the judicial system.

Imam Khomeini once said that if he would feel absolute comfort and peace of mind if Beheshti leads this position of great responsibility.  

The Chief Justice of Iran is the head of the judicial system of Iran and is responsible for its administration and supervision.

Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti (24 October 1928 – 28 June 1981) was an Iranian jurist, philosopher, cleric and politician is considered to have been one of major architect of Iran's post-revolution constitution, as well as the administrative structure of the Islamic Republic.

Beheshti was assassinated along with more than 70 members of the Islamic Republic Party on 28 June 1981.

Beheshti, considered as right-hand of Imam, is also known to have rendered great services to the Islamic Republic. Beheshti also served as the Secretary General of the Islamic Republic Party, and was the head of the Iranian judicial system. He further served as Chairman of the Council of Islamic Revolution, and the Assembly of Experts.

Beheshti earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy, and was fluent in several languages including German and Arabic.

Following his martyrdom, Imam Khomeini referred to Beheshti as a person who was "as a nation for us."
