Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic stressed that in the history of Islam, for very group or stratum of society, there is a suitable role-model who is guiding light for salvation and on the path to perfection.
The role-model for women, as declared by Allah and his holy Prophet of Islam Mohammad (PBUH) is Hazrat Fatimah-Zahra.
“The best of your men is Ali Ibn Abu Talib, and the best of your women is Fatimah Binte Mohammad,” Said the holy Prophet of Islam, adding that:
“Fatimah is part of me, that which annoys her annoys me, and that which harms her harms me.”
The Prophet (PBUH) used to stand up to receive her when she visited him. It was clearly against the Arab custom for a father to stand up for his daughter. This shows the high spiritual status accorded to Fatimah by Allah.
It is also reported that: “Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) returned from a trip, he would kiss Fatima’s throat and say: ‘From her, I do smell the fragrance of Paradise.’”
Her home environment was an example of harmony, peace, tranquility, and modesty.
After holy lady Fatimah marriage with Imam Ali (peace be upon them), She helped her husband in his worldly and religious affairs, and cooperated with him in achieving his exalted mission. Every time I look at Fatima, my worries and sadness would disappear, Imam Ali said about his beloved wife Fatimah(peace be upon them).
Imam Khomeini used to emphasize that holy lady Fatimah (PBUH) has introduced divine sources of dignity for all women and mankind thought the history.
Referring to this, Imam Khomeini said : The history of Islam is witness to the immense respect that the Prophet had for Hazrat Zahra which also powerfully reflects on the importance of women in society. If they are not superior to men, they are definitely not any inferior.
This Fatima is the role-model of all women of the world, her greatness is not limited to any particular time period or location. As stated by the Prophet of Islam , Fatima is the best woman ever, from the beginning of time, up to its end.
Once addressing groups of women Imam Khomeini said : "If you don't learn from her asceticism, piety, modesty and other virtues, you have not even understood the true essence of womanhood."
"We must all try to follow in the footsteps of Hazrat Fatima and should try to learn from her piety and knowledge, especially since Allah has not limited knowledge to only a few but has made it available for all seekers. Also, each and every individual can attain to high degrees of piety, a quality that is again not limited to the elite."
Imam Khomeini the great religious and spiritual leader of the Muslim world frequently highlighted the divine virtues of the holy divine lady and advised all women around the world to the footsteps of the holy prophet’s daughter.
The founder of the Islamic Republic said that holy lady Fatimah (PBUH) is the role-model for women throughout history and for all. Imam also noted that the Muslim societies must follow the teachings, ethical norms and practices of the holy lady in order to attain salvation.

Imam always insisted that the Islamic and world societies could prevent from moral and social decline and collapse by following the character of the teachings of the divine lady Fatimah and her pure progeny.
Imam Khomeini also maintained that legacy of Imam Ali (PBUH) should be preserved in all fields of human societies.
He also urged the whole human societies to follow footsteps of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and other truthful successors of the holy prophet of Islam in order to gain prosperity and salvation.
The spiritual leader of contemporary history frequently said that Imam Ali (PBUH has been perfect model to follow for the whole humanity for all ages.
Imam Khomeini used to maintain that Imam Ali (PBUH), the truthful infallible successor of the holy prophet of Islam, is the appearance of the absolute justice, the marvel of the world.
The founder of the Islamic Republic invited all government officials and masses to follow footsteps Imam Ali (PBUH) in all perspectives of life.
The well-known and reliable hadith of the Prophet (PBUH) is that "I am the city of knowledge and 'Ali is its gate".
According to Imam Khomeini, in the early days of Islam, the ideal Islamic government ruled twice: first at the time of the Holy Prophet Muhammad and secondly when Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon them) governed the Muslim societies and set unprecedented divine patterns.
