International summit on Martyr Mostafa Khomeini kicks off in Tehran

Several officials and scholars are scheduled to shed light on various perspectives of life of Martyr Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini.

 An international summit marking the 40th passing away anniversary of Martyr Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini has kicked off in the Iranian capital Tehran.

 The commemoration is being held held at Iran International Conference Center on Monday in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani, Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, and the grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani senior government and military officials and a number of religious scholars.

Muslim religious scholars and intellectuals are scheduled to shed light on various perspectives of life of Martyr Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini and highlight his contribution to the struggle for the Islamic Revolution.

On the sidelines of the conference, several stalls have been set up to display scholarly works of Mostafa Khomeini.

Mostafa Khomeini, son of the late founder of the Islamic Republic rendered precious services and played crucial role role in advancing the objectives of the Islamic revolution at the sensitive juncture of history.

In an inaugural speech, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has said that Martyr Mostafa Khomeini had been a hope for all revolutionaries, stressing to observe and analyze various perspectives of his multidimensional personality.

Seyyed Mostafa Khomeini, the eldest son of the late Imam Khomeini, suspiciously passed away in 1977 during exile in Iraqi city of Najaf as Shah regime agents were hatching conspiracies against the Islamic movement.
