Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum to host Arba’een ceremony

A mourning ceremony in remembrance of martyrdom of Imam Hossein (PBUH) and his faithful disciples will be held at Imam Khomeini’s shrine in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The Thursday ceremony will be attended by intellectuals, seminary figures and people from various walks of life

The speakers will define the divine purposes of Ashura and define the real philosophy of sacrifices rented by Imam Hossein (PBUH), the grandson of the holy prophet of Islam.  

 Imam Khomeini the religious and spiritual leader of the Muslim world used to say that the holy months of Muharram and Safar have kept Islam .

The great scholar of the Islamic world advised all clerics and preachers to make their intentions pure and deliver such speeches at religious gatherings which can elevate the Islamic societies towards spiritual and moral development. 

Arba'een is the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein some 14 centuries ago. Millions of Shia Muslims from dozens of countries hold ceremonies on the occasion. 

Millions of Muslims from across the world have gathered in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arba’een, the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam.

Mourners have gathered in Karbala to pay tribute to the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, who was martyred in the desert plains of the city along with his 72 companions some 14 centuries ago.

Imam Hussein and his companions were martyred in a battle with the massive army of Yazid I after refusing allegiance to the tyrant caliph. 

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic used to stress that the Islamic Revolution had been inspired and was closely associated to Ashura.
