Abstract:

The world is in a period of profound change.  Revolution is afoot.  This is the result of political oppression, rich-poor division, high unemployment, and the financial consequences of the collapse of Western finance capitalism which are causing a substantial rise in food prices.

But exactly what form should revolution take?  Western finance capitalism is the main cause of the problems and so must be rejected: and also rejected is communism/socialism which abhors Allah, is politically oppressive, and is materially inefficient.

The answer lies with an Islamic (or binary) revolution, inspired by the example of Imam Khomeini and Iran.  However, that revolution, while highly successful in many respects, still lacks the one thing – a detailed, riba-free, social and economic justice – which is necessary to provide the impetus for a worldwide revolutionary alternative.

Nor are detailed demands for justice enough.  There must be practical plans for implementation and it is incumbent upon those who promote justice to have brought it into existence in their own backyard.
