Imam Khomeini refused to accept any high-ranking position for his beloved son, Hajja Seyyed Ahmad

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic rejected all types of offers that his beloved son Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini should be prime minister or hold any other high-ranking position.

Imam, who opted to live a simply built rented house in Tehran’s neighborhood of Jamaran following the victory of Islamic Revolution,.  Imam’s son, who played a greater role in protecting Imam during the struggle for the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ahmad also stayed alongside Imam.

Imam on various occasions had rejected any governmental or administrating position for his son.

Imam also once in a letter hailed and praised sacrifices and services rendered by Ahamad Khomeini for the revolution and the nation. But Imam advised him of patience if once a blame finger was pointed at him by some ignorant individuals.

Addressing in the letter, which has been published in Sahifeh 20, said that You have committed no mistake, but show patience if once became subject to hostilities by some hostile elements. This all would be because of your kinship and nearness to me. 

It is noteworthy that Seyed Ahmad Khomeini remained the most trusted figure and right-hand of Imam Khomeini during the tough years of struggle and following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The great Imam and his son deemed the Muslim Ummah a single society and used to attach great significance to issues facing the Muslim world.

Seyed Ahmad Khomeini passed away 19 years ago in 1995. His services for the Islamic Revolution and the Muslim Ummah will always be remembered by the generations for decades to come.
