Avoiding discord, key to establishment of Islamic unity: Sunni cleric

Prayer leader of Sunni community in Kermanshah highlighted importance of creating an Islamic Ummah calling on Muslims to stay away from division in the world of Islam.

Mamusta Abdul Rahman Moradi, in his speech at the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference noted the key role of tolerance and avoiding discord in bringing different Islamic denominations together in a unified nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” It is obligatory for our entire Islamic society to stay away from division and causes of discord among the Islamic Ummah.
 
He counted the basic goals of the rule of Islam and the Islamic Ummah the first of which being creation of security and peace among the nation.
 
Top scholar said to eliminate oppression and corruption is another objective behind efforts to create unified Islamic nation.
 
“Another goal of Islamic governance is to establish justice among people and society” added the cleric.
 
He counted preservation of life, property, and honour as a fundamental right of Muslims in the united Islamic nation.
 
Iranian Sunni scholar called on Muslims to stay away from the division between religions and maintain tolerance in the face of religious differences.
 
Mamusta Abdul Rahman Moradi stressed, “It is obligatory and necessary for the elites and our scholars and those who speak the language of Muslims, in every country, in every city, in every region, to be able to do something to revive this word of God, to revive this sovereignty.”
 
Prayer leader of Sunni community in Kermanshah noted that all capacities from universities, higher scientific centres, seminaries, mosques to move revival of the Islamic Ummah.
 
He said, “We can have synergy in security, knowledge, politics and in wealth with Islamic countries and leaders of Islamic countries to revive and rebuild the honour of Islamic sovereignty and the new Islamic civilization.
 
Top cleric hailed World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for holding the annual Islamic Unity Conference in line with boosting solidarity among Muslims across the globe.
 
36th International Islamic Unity Conference is held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on “Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the Islamic World” on October 10-15, 2022 as prominent Shia and Sunni scholars discuss the issues of Muslim world in online and in presence meetings held in the capital Tehran.
