Iranian Embassy hosts top Malaysian officials in ceremony marking Islamic Revolution anniversary

The Iranian Embassy in Malaysia on Saturday held a ceremony to mark the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, which was attended by political and cultural officials and high-ranking figures, including former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad.

Iranian Ambassador Ali Asghar Mohammadi addressed participants in the ceremony, speaking about the great achievements his country has managed to accomplish over the past decades, despite “cruel pressure”.

He also elaborated on Iran’s foreign policy agenda, saying it attaches importance to expanding relations with Islamic and Asian countries.

Iran has always welcomed participation in regional affairs without foreign interference and based on the principle of mutual respect, the ambassador said, adding that the Islamic Republic has used “all of its diplomatic capacities” to help resolve regional disputes and expand cooperation based on common interests.
