Imam never liked special or VIP treatment for himself

Imam never liked special or VIP treatment for himself

A memoirs by Hujjat al-Islam Abdul Ali Qarahi from Ayatollah Moderation's diary

It has been narrated that one day in Najaf, one of the elders had passed away.
The Imam wanted to attend his funeral. I have to rent a car because I didn't want the Imam to be shielded in the heat.
We had the car for about an hour, and I finally paid a dinar. One dinar at that time was equivalent to twenty Iranian tomans now. Two or three days later, I took the bill to the Imam.
He told me, "Why aren't you careful?" You paid a dinar for a car! I said that I thought you were late. The Imam said, "No, I am like the other ordinary people!"
