Bitter and sweet memories of the holy defense, Imam Khomeini just smiled after liberation of Khorramshahr

Seyyed Ahamad Khomeini in an interview with Jomhuri Eslami newspaper, spoke of the bitterest and sweetest memories of the imposed war:

He said that the bitterest memory I remember is the adoption of the resolution which ended the eight-year long imposed war and the sweetest memory had been the liberation of Khorramshahr.

One of Imam’s prominent qualities had been that he never became too sad after unpleasant happenings or became very happy following glad tidings.

Once Imam was walking in the yard of his home while holding a radio and listening news or some evening programs

The Imam walked three times a day for about half an hour each time.

Suddenly I saw a smile on Imam’s face. I understood from the gesture that the Iranian forces had been successful in liberating the port city of Khorramshahr.

It was evident that Imam had felt spiritual pleasure at the victory of the Islamic forces

The conquest of Khorramshahr was announced when it was about four o'clock in the afternoon and the Imam was walking.

and the radio was in their hands, because we already knew that the fighters of Islam were doing this, and the fighting had started the night before, which was very intense.
