Operation al-Aqsa Storm will have impact on future international order: Dr. Sanaei

Operation Al-Aqsa Storm will have impact and proves to be influential in the formation of the future international order

Mehdi Sanai made remarks at a summit which was held to review the ongoing development in the besieged Palestinian enclave of Gaza.

The former Iranian ambassador hinted that before the Ukraine war, there were good relations between Israel and Russia, but after the war, the ties between the two sides are not as warm as before.

He pointed out that the simultaneous communication of the Russians with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Israel and condemnation of Israeli aggression and any potential ground offensive in Gaza by Russia was a remarkable development.

Dr. Sanaei said that Russia wants to stop the Gaza war and killing of civilians by the Israeli regime.

Russians have adopted a moderate and balanced policy. Before the Ukraine war, there were good relations between Israel and Russia, but after the war, the relations between the two sides are not as warm as before.

Stating that the analysis of Russia's role in the start of the Hamas-Israeli war is wrong, he said:

In Iran, Russia's role is being discussed a lot. The war in Ukraine has been marginalized in the media.

A contributing factor to the peace in Ukraine and the reduction of pressure on Russia could have been the occurrence of a major incident elsewhere, but the cause and effect relationship between this incidents cannot be established.

The period of continuation of the Gaza war" and "overshadowing of the Western policy" are two influential factors in the Ukraine war. The West wants to declare that the war in Ukraine has not been overshadowed.

Mehdi Sanai further said that a surprisse operation by the Israeli regime, which can be defined more than "attack" in the context of "defense against several decades of occupation".

He further said that it has been one of a series of actions that will be effective in the future international order.

“We have rarely seen non-state actors play a role in the international order, but this time it happened,” he said.

Sanai concluded by emphasizing as following:

“We have two areas of cooperation with Russia in this field and a series of other arenas.

“One is the official policy of Russia, which wants the end of the war in Gaza, and the other is Russia's unwillingness to expand the war in the region.”

Considering Russia's policy on this matter, the Palestinian issue can be one of the foundations of cooperation between the two countries.
