Seyyed Hassan Khomeini releases message of condolence over passing of Imam's pupil and companion

Ayatollah Haj Sheikh Mohammad Reza Rahmat, one of sincere and steadfast companions of Najaf era of Imam Khomeini has passed away. Seyyed Hassan Khomeini has released a message of condolence on this sad occasion.

The pupil and comanion of Imam stood by him throughout all thick and thin time during the struggle for the Islamic Revolution.  

He had been with Imam during years of exile in the holy city of Najaf and being a member of Imam Khomeini's office, he bravely defended the rightful demands of the Iranian people and the genuine and dynamic ideals of the revolution at different span of times.

 Despite the hardships, he stood by Imam and the Islamic Revolution with firm determination and steadfastness.

A series of memoirs regarding the founder of the Islamic Revolution were left by him and had been published on Imam’s passing anniversary.

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, in a message of condolence described Ayatollah Rahmat’s passing as loss for the society. 

“Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Rahmat, who was steadfast in his promise and pledge throughout his noble life and preferred association with the nation over all issues, has now departed towards to the mercy of God, the almighty.”

“And by joining the office of Imam Khomeini since very early years of struggle for the Islamic Revolution, he strived utmost to carry out the religious affairs of the people. In addition to that, he has had many memories of being associated with the founder of the Islamic Republic.”
