Seyyed Hassan Khomeini strongly denounces Kerman terrorist attack, wants firm response to enemies

The late founder of the Islamic Republic has said that the twin terrorist attacks in the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman had been shocking and grieved the entire society.

The message came hours after about 100 people were killed and more than 200 injured in two explosions against mourners who were on their way to visit the tomb of Qassem Soleimani, a top Iranian general who was assassinated four years ago on this day in a US drone strike near the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that any exploitation by the enemy should be met with firm response and security and intellegence agencies must be ready to block all efforts by enemies to create insecurity.

"The Kerman terrorist attack and the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of dear brothers and sisters is a shocking tragedy that hurt everyone's hearts, he said, adding,  "Targeting innocent women, men and children has shown the depth of the enemies’ desperation, which must be met with a decisive and firm response."

"I offer my condolences to the survivors, especially the noble and martyred people, and wish for the recovery of the injured."

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini further  hoped that the intelligence and security institutions of the country will give decisive and fitting respone to crime in Kerman and block all the way to the aggression by the enemies.
