Seyyed Hassan Khomeini says Master of Persian miniature painting Mahmoud Farshchian combined Iranian, Islamic symbols and values

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini has issued a condolence message on passing away of Master of Persian miniature painting Mahmoud Farshchian

In a message, the grandson of Imam Khomeini said that Farshchian combined the Iranian and Islamic symbols and values in his paintings and drawings.

 The text of the message of Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini comes as following:

The soul of the great Iranian artist Mahmoud Farshchian, who recently passed away has left lovers of Iranian, Islamic and Shia art in mourning.

This master of painting and drawing has left behind immortal and unique works that illustrate important aspects of our history and culture, he noted.

Farshchian, had proved himself very successful by drawing "Ashura event" nad illustrations of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and Hafez's poetic symbals, as well as the construction of the holy shrine of Razavi (‘a), Seyyed Hassan Khomeini stated.

His paintings and drawings were was a combination of Iranians and Islamic symbols and values in the most beautiful form of art. Today, with his loss, Iran has lost a precious figure, the reputed scholar said, he stressed.

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini concluded his message by saying: “I offer my condolences to all lovers of the brilliant culture of Iran, the artistic community, and his family for this loss, and I ask God to grant his soul the highest degrees.”

 Several Iranian officials have sent messages of condolences on the legendary painter’s death.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Farshchian was not only a master of one of the most refined Iranian traditional arts but was also a bridge between the past and present, vividly portraying Iran’s spiritual heritage and aesthetic culture to the world.

His everlasting works, which constitute a significant part of the identity and mentality of Iranian culture and art, serve as a window into the depth of creation, history, and literature, through which the spirit of authentic Iranian art will always remain alive.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Eje'i, and government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani also sent separate messages of condolences.
