Russian Scholars Visit Historic Imam's Residence in Khomein

A group of Russian academics and scholars have visited the landmark ancestral house of Imam Khomeini--the founder of the Islamic Republic—in the historic city of Khomein.

This comes as the religious and social academic personalities have launched a tour to visit all sites of historical significance across Iran.  They believed that visiting Imam Khomeini’s birth place was one of the important phases of their historic cultural tour.

The Russian dignitaries were briefed about the history of house and were also told that how the great Imam spent his childhood there before moving to Iraq, Qom and other cities of Iran for further education.

The religious and social personalities were deeply impressed by simple lifestyle of Imam’s household people and their spiritual and religious leadership role for Muslim world and appreciated Imam’s devotion for his country and the oppressed nations across the globe.

They were also explained about the key events which led to the downfall of monarchy and victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Relevant sources say that hundreds of thousands of domestic and international tourists and pilgrims pay visit to Imam’s simply built residences in Khomein, the holy city of Qom and Tehran each year. 

The group of the Russian scholars is also expected to visit a historic house of Imam Khomeini where the great leader opted to reside following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The personalities will also visit to the galleries which contain several images, painting, and documents reflecting the historic passage of the Islamic Revolution. Each of these objects bears a description and show the history of the greatest movement of the twentieth through the years.

A gallery attached to the house also contains a video library and virtual electronic tours about the Islamic Revolution, key personalities and events.

The tourists and scholars will be informed about precious works of Imam Khomeini in the various fields including jurisprudence, philosophy, poetry and theology. It is noteworthy that several of Imam’s works

have been translated into dozens of languages over the past few years. The works are also available in digital library section of this website.

The simply built residences of Imam attract millions of pilgrims from around the world each year.

After decades of struggle, the Islamic revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini gained the victory. The Islamic-democratic system establish by the great Imam brought great status and confidence to the Iranian nation and rest of the Islamic world.

Ruhullah Musawi Khomeini was born on 20 Jamadi al-Akhir 1320/ 24 September 1902- coincidence with the birth anniversary of Hadrat Fatima (PBUH)- in the small town of Khomein, some 160 kilometers to the southwest of the holy city of Qom.
