(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Dignified status of women was particularly honored by the founder of the Islamic Revolution, resulting in the promotion of Iranian women in the society.

This is according to the general director of Women and Family Affairs Department in Tehran province, Azar Nazari, speaking to IQNA about the undeniable role of women in supporting the Islamic government.

Women have been remarkably involved in the country’s critical issues over the last couples of decades, she said, noting that even before the Revolution they courageously resisted oppressions, contributing to the realization of the historic event.

Highlighting the educational role of Muslim women, she added that they were inspired by Imam Khomeini‘s doctrine, who put emphasis on honoring women for their engagement in social, educational, political, and cultural activities.

During the Sacred Defense era, women undertook a big responsibility by following the Islamic teachings, which motivated them to work harder and to honor chastity and Divine values.
