The black curtain which covers the Ka’ba was replaced on the 5th of November. After the morning prayers were completed the Ka’ba’s old covering was taken off, the Ka’ab was then washed with Zam Zam water and Iranian rose water. The new covering was then placed on the Ka’ba. This ceremony takes place every year on the 9th of Dhil Hijja, which is on the day pilgrims leave Mecca to go to A’rafaat.
