Imam Khomeini Delivered first Speech after Revolution

The founder of the Islamic Republic delivered his first general address to large crowds gathered at a seminary in the Iranian capital, Tehran in 1979.

The speech came days after the Iranian nation overthrew long-time dictatorial regime of Shah on February 11, 1979. Large crowds of people belonging to various classes of society gathered at the Alawi seminary to listen the speech of the great leader of the Muslim world.

The great Imam said in his historic address that the belief in God was the main factor which had contributed to unprecedented victory of people against the oppression and the arrogant powers.

It is worth-mentioning that the Islamic Revolution in Iran took place at a very sensitive juncture of history when the all countries had become dependent either on Eastern or the Western power blocks.

Imam always maintained that the divine spirit of people and their trust in God, the Almighty had caused the Islamic movement to emerge victorious  against  the Pahlavi regime and its backers, the colonial powers.

The day, 11 February , corresponding with  the 22nd of the month of Bahman on the solar calendar, coincides with a definitive end to the rule of the monarchical Pahlavi regime and thus an end to the 2,500 years of monarchical rule in the country. The Islamic Revolution, under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.

The Islamic revolution put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

Aside from relieving the country of the monarchy, Iran's revolution also triggered several changes in the strategically-important region of the Middle East and some other parts of the world.

Meanwhile, all conspiracies to weaken the revolution couldn’t bear any good fruit. For an instance, Saddam's attack on Iran not only rallied the population around Imam Khomeini but also rendered a humiliated defeat to colonial powers and changed balance of power in the region.

Several pundits say the impact of the Islamic Revolution and its dynamic teachings were enormous and inspired revolutions as well as Muslim and free-minded generations in later decades.

Imam Khomeini revived the humane and moral values and challenged all material systems that ignore the mankind spiritual perspectives.
