Mass spiritual gathering held at Imam Khomeini shrine

A special annual religious and spiritual gathering has been held at the holy mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Thousands of people gathered at the holy site to attend divine and spiritual event which was held on the 23rd night of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The spiritual event was also attended by Hojjat-al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the founder of the Islamic Revolution and several other prominent religious and social figures.

The holy Quran was recited and supplications narrated by the holy prophet and his infallible successor (peace be upon them) were read, and intellectuals delivered speeches on a range of religious topics were during the ceremony

Thousands of people attend spiritual ceremonies which are held each year at Imam Khomeini’s holy shrine each year during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the holy book of Quran, among the nights of Ramadan is one special night known as the Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr), which is better than a thousand months.   Good deeds, worships, and divine practices and performed on that single night are equal to those performed over a thousand months.

Imam Khomeini, the world religious and spiritual leader used to recommend the devotees to pay special attention to self-purification and get rid of carnal desires during this blessed divine month. 

The holy shrine of the founder of the Islamic Republic is visited by thousands of pilgrims around Iran and the different parts of the world every year. It is located on suburbs of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The founder of the Islamic Republic revived spiritual values at a time when the whole world was plunged moral and social crisis.  

Imam Khomeini’s teachings, thought and works are becoming increasingly popular among the various walks of people around the globe.
