Tell them not to dedicate slogans to me

Before arriving at one of his meetings at the Hosseiniyah Assembly Hall, the Imam stated to me: “Tell them not to dedicate slogans to me.” He would be very upset if at times he would come to know that people in the hall were undergoing intense discomfort and officials were making people unhappy with their attitudes or that any of the staff members was being rude to the visitors. He would be upset and demand why they were behaving with people in that manner. At times people would arrive from distant places without previous appointment to see the Imam and on entering the Jamaran Assembly hall they would chant slogans in order to perhaps attract attention and succeed in meeting him. As soon as the Imam would come to know of their arrival, he would state: “Let them come in.” At times such a thing would occur repeatedly in the course of the day and in any case and whatever the situation whether the weather was cold or hot, the Imam would not tolerate people being sent back and deprived of calling on him.
