Imam hailed divinely inspired attributes of Modarres

Imam Khomeini used to count the divinely inspired attributes and qualities of Ayatollah Seyed Hassan Modarres.

Imam Khomeini frequently said that this great personality of contemporary era was a great believer and faithful who adopted a very simple life style and stayed away from luxurious way of life.  


The founder of the Islamic Republic used to praise Ayatollah Modarres personality due to his knowledge of the Islamic disciplines and command over the political affairs.


He played very crucial role at very sensitive juncture of the history and is remembered by the Iranian people as a great religious scholar and politician. 


The cleric used to criticize the Pahalavi regime’s association and dependence on external powers and policies as contradictory to the national interests. 


He was openly critical of Reza Shah's rule and was placed under imprisonment in retaliation for his criticisms.


Modarres was also exiled, tortured and assassinated by the agents of Shah Regime in later years. His martyrdom day is marked as Parliament Day across Iran.


Imam Khomeini preserved the academic and political legacy and such personalities by continuing their path and leading the Islamic movement in later decades.


Modarres was elected as representative of in the parliament of the Pahlavi regime era and was strong and outspoken critic of the Shah regime. He had well command over the modern era sciences and the principles of the Islamic theology.


Imam used to emphasize that Modaress could shield his faith and protected the genuine teachings of Islam and the original Iranian culture.


The great Imam was fond of his personality and used to travel to attend parliament sessions in Tehran to listen Modarres debates and his criticism of the then Shah regime.


Modaress took active part in political affairs when cleric used to avoid participating in political fate of the nation. He used to strongly criticize or reject articles or resolutions which contradict the public and national interests.   The great figure staunchly opposed the separation between religion and politics.
