What comes below is a rough transcript of the interview:

Question: Can you please introduce yourself at first?

Answer: I am Darmayanto, a social and political activist from Indonesia. I have also been a lawmaker at the parliament and enjoy academic and university background as well.

Question: How do you asses Imam Khomeini’s works and his ideals?

Darmayanto: I have read precious books and works by several Iranian scholars on range of topics. However, Imam’s book under the title of “an exposition on Forty Hadith” attracts me lot as it provides readers with great insightfulness.

Question: Do you think Imam’s works and ideals have raised awareness and inspired awakening in contemporary era?

Darmayanto: Yes, of course I do believe that Imam Khomeini’s ideas should not be restricted to Iranians, Arabs or Indonesians, because his legacy is of global significance and carries out message for the audience of the entire world.

Question: What are your views about Imam Khomeini efforts on unity between Sunni and Shia Muslims?

Darmayanto: Imam negated sectarian strife and promoted the unity among Sunni and Shia Muslims. There is a great amount of coordination between two important religious Muslim schools of thought. However, sometimes people backed by Saudi Arabi create troubles by propagating extremist Wahhabi ideology.
