Imam Khomeini political, religious ideals are progressive

Several analysts and experts consider political and religious ideas of Imam Khomeini as progressive and too appealing for followers of all divine religions.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic in his last will and testament largely focuses on this line of thought, encouraging both the general Iranian populace, the lower economic classes in particular, and the clergy to maintain their commitment to fulfilling Islamic revolutionary ideals. 

Imam Khomeini, who adamantly opposed monarchy and established an Islamic-democratic system, maintained that Iran should strive towards self-reliance, growth and progress. 

Following the victory of Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini, Iran made dramatic progress in several fields. 

Imam’s ultimate vision was for Islamic nations to converge together into a single unified power, in order to avoid alignment with either side (the West or the East), and he believed that this would happen at some point in the near future.

Imam Khomeini also viewed certain elements of Western culture as being inherently decadent and a corrupting influence upon the youth. 

Imam Khomeini led a simple lifestyle, being deeply interested in mysticism, and was against the accumulation of land and wealth.
