Imam Khomeini, the prominent religious leader of the world, has the variety of sayings ranging from different corners of the human experiences. He has presented different speeches in ethics, politics, human right the list goes on. He is being taken as foremost model of the world, a man of esteem. His name will never stop called in the voices of people because of his remarkable work he did.

Nevertheless, as we are inside the month of Ramadan which is an exceptional holy month for the Muslims, once again Imam never left something to say about this respected month, rather he therefore significantly considered about this month. There are plenty words of Imam in this respect, but we opt to mention few of them. Dating back to 43 years, he presented an influential speech amidst religious scholars and students in the city called Najaf, here are some of the words: “in this month of Ramadan, regard yourselves as the visitors of Allah, reserve his rights and feel him as he is on your presence………” he continued: “if someone is trying to venture into someone’s life, you have to know that you are jeopardizing Allah. And if one is backbiting someone else, you have to know you have practiced that on the presence of Allah……..” (Sahife Imam: vol 2/390-391) In his other presentations, on 3 Khordad 1364 Shams equivalent to Gregorian 05/24/1985, Imam  spoke about incoming night of Qadr, he said: “due to the potency of the prophet Muhammad (s) in this month of Ramadan, the Quran was sent down by the Angels”  meaning the night of Qadr. ([1]Sahife Imam: vol 16/285)

According to the  great Imam, the holy month of Ramadan might have been prescribed, because it is a month in which the holy Prophet has perceived the truth. After this perception, the angels and the Qur'an have been sent down. By His power the angels are sent down and by the power of the grand wali, the Qur'an and angels are revealed. The grand wali reached the truth of the Qur'an in the holy month and on the night of Qadr. After the perception, He caused Quran to be sent down through the angels who are all subordinate to Him so as to communicate to people to some extent. The holy Qur'an is beyond our approach and it is beyond the capacity of human being. It is a secret between the Truth and the grand wali who is the messenger of God. It is revealed to the prophet in whole to be communicated to people in the form of words so as to be able to use it. If we understand the secret of the" Night of Qadr and ascension of angels" on the nights of Qadr that extends to the grant wali of God, (Savior of the humanity) May God's peace be upon him all our problems would be facilitated. All the problems we have are because we are veiled and cannot perceive the truth as it is and the order of existence as has been regulated.

Imam Khomeini has also given several pieces of advises and left recommendations about the holy month of Ramadan

I repeat, decide during these thirty days of the blessed month of Ramadan to control your tongue, eyes, ears, and all your organs and limbs, and pay constant attention to the judgment of the sharia about the works you intend to do, and the words you intend to speak and the subject you intend to listen to. This is the elementary and outward manner of keeping a fast. At least keep to this outward manner of fasting! If you observe that someone is about to backbite, prevent him and say to him that we have made a covenant that during these thirty days of Ramadan to keep ourselves from prohibited affairs. And if you are not able to keep him from backbiting, leave that session. Do not just sit there and listen. The Muslims must be safe from you .
