Islam and Imam’s Dynamic Thought Back Social and Political Freedoms

A prominent scholar says that the Islamic teachings and Imam Khomeini’s dynamic thought have vigorously backed the social and political freedoms among the Muslim societies.

Hujjat ul-Islam Mansour Mirahmadi, the head of Political Science Department at Shahid
Beheshti University made remarks during a speech at a summit in the holy city of Mashhad.


He also emphasized that the basic Islamic sources and dynamic thought of the great Imam have guaranteed all civil liberties and political freedoms.


Mirahmadi maintained that Imam had highly acknowledged and attached a special significance to the people’s presence at the polls to cast their ballots for qualified candidates with certain wisdom.  


He also went on to say that the basic Islamic sources including Qur’an and the progressive thought of Imam guarantee the following fundamental rights:


A)    Right to vote


B)    Right to deliver a free speech


C)    Right to set up assembly and gatherings


 The scholar also noted that the political freedoms were a prelude towards implementing justice in the Muslim societies. He also said the accomplishment of true justice system without achievement of real political freedoms was impossible in any society.


 The scholar also highlighted that the current wave of the Islamic Awakening across the Muslim world has been inspired by the great Imam’s precious thought and his unique leadership.
