The grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic went on to say that martyrdom of al-Nimr would add a dark page of intolerance to narrow-minded Saudi royal family.
Saudi Arabia announced the execution of Sheikh Nimr on Saturday, in defiance of international calls for the release of the prominent Shia cleric.
Activists around the world have also staged large protest rallies to show their anger at the execution of Sheikh Nimr.
