Hassan Khomeini meets Sri Lankan minister for Muslim affairs

The grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic has held a meeting with Sri Lankan minister for Muslim affairs.

Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini and accompanying delegation was warmly received for dinner in second major Sri Lankan city of Kandy .

Some of the members of Sri Lankan parliament were present at the feast.

The issues for interests and welfare of the Muslims were discussed during the meeting.

The minster belongs to a prominent Muslim family and his uncle has already served as minister of foreign affairs.

Sri Lanka has a sizeable population of 2.5 million Muslims who enjoy significant rights.

Earlier Seyyed Hassan Khomeini along with the high-ranking delegation participated in Friday prayers in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo.

During the religious and spiritual ceremony, the participants showed great devotion towards personality and ideals of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic. 

The victory of Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1979 in Iran strengthened the developing and oppressed nations in contemporary era.

Imam Khomeini through his speeches and messages used to stress the need to maintain amicable ties with all nations
