Dr. Fatemeh Tabatabaei, the daughter- in- law of Imam Khomeini made remarks at a recently held summit which was held under the theme of “Islamic Revolution and the World against Violence and Extremism”.
Dr. Fatima Tabatabai is researcher on the Islamic Mysticism and expert regarding the Imam’s works on mysticism.
Addressing a gathering of academics and intellectuals, Dr. Tabatabaei said that accommodating, a positive compromise and soft impressions will guarantee success for someone who performs important duty of commanding for the good and forbidding from the bad.
Elsewhere in her remarks, the internationally-reputed scholar said that love and devotion are considered as basic pillars of guidance.
She went onto say that Imam Sadiq (PBUH), one of the infallible successors of the holy prophet of Islam said that someone who distinguishes between intellect and ignorance, that person is destined to be guided.
Citing to Imam Khomeini’s famous book titled “An exposition on hosts of intellect and ignorance”, Fatemeh Tabatabaei noted that the late founder of the Islamic Republic considers elements of accommodating and compromising as hosts of intellect.
The scholar concluded by saying that someone who behaves people with violence or hostility, such a person has actually distanced from the intellect and divine nature.
The summit comes as Iran has repeatedly announced that it pursues the goal of achieving a world without violence and that every problem can be settled through negotiations.
In December 2013, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to approve President Hassan Rouhani’s proposal, known as World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE), which called on all nations across the globe to denounce violence and extremism.
This came after President Rouhani made the proposal in his address to the UN Disarmament Conference in New York on September 25, 2013.
