Prominent rights groups across the United Statesare taking action against the controversial ban, which was announced via an executive order.
The ACLU at a federal court in Brooklyn sued on behalf those detained shortly after Trump’s order at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
It was not exactly clear how many had been detained following the executive order.
The developments have prompted massive crowds of demonstrators to gather at the airport.
The Legal Defense Fund at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) said, “This will traumatize, terrorize, and potentially separate many American families."
Rights group are requesting are trying to represent all those detained based on the order.
This came after US President Donald Trump issued an order barring entry to them for 90 days.
Trump’s order would impose a 90-day ban on entry from citizens of several Muslim countries, block refugees from Syria indefinitely, and suspend all refugee admissions for 120 days.
A US judge has issued a temporary halt to the deportation of visa holders or refugees stranded at airports.
This comes as extremist groups across US and some other western countries are systematically spreading Islam phobia and anti-Muslim sentiments.
It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution through his speeches and messages invited the Muslim and oppressed nations to unite under same banner to confront Islamophobia and aggressive policies by colonial powers.
