It has been reported through a series of memoirs that Imam Khomeini used to read a vast variety of books on different topics during his stay in exile in holy city of Najaf.
Seyyed Hajj Ahmad Agha, Imam’s dear son said that In addition to reading first-hand Islamic sources regarding Islamic diciplines, Imam also used to read most of the books by contemporary scholars.
Imam not only used to prefer study the specialized theological and classic works, but also explored historical, social, political and even story books regarding various regions of the world, he said.
Even after becoming leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam never missed listening or reading international developments. Imam believed that the media should play a role of mobile schools and universities.
Imam left several works on philosophy, mysticism, Hadith and jurisprudence and Quranic interpretation.
