Imam Khomeini Warned against Moral Decline in West

Imam Khomeini, the great Islamic scholar and spiritual leader of the Islamic World had warned that the Western societies were heading towards moral decline and descending into social chaos.

Imam Khomeini in a famous letter to Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of Union of Socialist Soviet Republics, also predicted the end of materialism and warned him of trusting the West.

Imam believed that the Western societies and their ruling elites had absolutely abandoned the moral values and were grappling with social injustices and inequalities.

The remarks came after the great Imam called the communism an outdated relic and envisaged the death of the communist system across the globe.

Then the Soviet leader was well-advised by the great Imam to study and research Islam earnestly.

Imam was a great visionary as he showed all the Muslim and oppressed nations how to relieve themselves from clutches of the communism and imperialism. He believed that these systems had absolutely failed to respond the material and spiritual needs of the young generations.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli gave Gorbachev the personal letter from Imam Khomeini and announced readiness of the Shia seminaries and intellectuals to answer the complicated questions and spiritual needs of the societies.

Iranian delegation also appreciated Gorbachev for welcoming the message of Imam warmly.
